Covered In Blood

21 Oct

The logo that is prominently used for Showtime’s TV show Dexter is featured above. This logo’s success is derived from being able to capture people’s eyes by using some of the gestalt principles. The word Dexter and the blood is blended together, which causes viewers to try and seperate the two. A reader has to peel off the blood to be able to recognize the underlying title of the show.

Is this one of the most succesful logos of all time? No, not by any means. But what this logo does is embody exactly what the show is supposed to be about. Because of this, the faithful audience that Dexter has generated is able to relate to the show, simply by looking at this bloody logo.

Your first graph lacks the voice your second graph has.
